Dolphin Nethralaya, the Eye Care Laser and Research Centre is a division of Dolphin Medical Services Ltd. In the first phase of its operation, Dolphin launched a comprehensive diagnostic centre providing services ranging from simple lab-test to total body scanning. With the advent of Dolphin Nethralaya, the organization entered into the second phase of activities.

Dolphin Nethralaya, with its modern and sophisticated eye-care laser equipments, is the first of its kind in coastal Andhra Pradesh. Patients hither to were referred to the centres in Chennai and Hyderabad by the ophthalmologists. With the advant of similar facilities in Dolphin Nethralaya, the patients are relieved of the stress and strain of going to long distances. Further, the ophthalmologists of this region can closely monitor their patients.

In consonance with rapid developments in the medical field, many- a- modern gadget has emerged in eye-care also.

Dolphin Medical Services Limited, acquired the most modern eye-care equipment such as Yag Laser, Frequency doubled Yag laser, Fundus Camera, Computerized perimeter, 'A' scan and 'B' Scan is opening its eye-care Laser and research Centre in the name of Dolphin Nethralaya. Dolphin which has made a mark for itself in diagnostic services will now onwards provide eye-care laser services to the benefit of both patients and doctors. The equipment and their uses are as follows :

ND YAG LASER : This NIDEK, Japan made equipment is with beam splitter, coobservation tube, camera for CCD etc. The equipment is used in glaucomatous conditions for angle closure, relief of pupillary block in Aphakic or pseudophakia, reopening of closed filtering bleb, disruption of anterior face in malignant glaucoma, section of lens Iris Synechiae, ciliary body ablation etc. In Vitreolysis, the equipment is used for disruption of vitreous traction bands, membranes and incarcerated vitreous.

In Coreoplasty, for blasting of pigment over IOL, release of anterior capsular fragment distorting pupil, Corticolysis etc., this equipment is the latest and the efficient.
